Single and Gay? I've Got Just the Thing.

About 74 people asked me this week if I was going to the r. Norman's and Seven Sushi grand opening party last night.  I didn't go, because I've been there already and it's not my kinda place.  The r. Norman's menu is unforgivingly un-vegetarian, though I think the bar is pretty.

Upstairs at Seven is a different aesthetic story, though.  It looks like a Holiday Inn banquet room, with large windows that provide a view of the buildings across the street and huge support pillars throughout the room quite conspicuously "hiding" behind giant curtains.  I met two of the owners when was there and they couldn't have been nicer; I wish them much success with the concept and I have no doubt that it will be successful.  But seriously, I saw this post on Taylor's blog the other day and the first thought I had was "hey someone v-blogged from Seven Sushi!"

Today's issue of Minneapolis Picks will be the last monthly issue... because they're going weekly starting in March!  As an added bonus, I've joined the Picks writing team and will be contributing something almost every week.  Be sure to subscribe to Minneapolis Picks if you haven't already; it's as easy as typing your email address into the box handily situated in the upper left-hand corner of every page on the site.

The Alexis on the Sexes SINGLED OUT! event in November was so much fun that the Saloon wants us to do it every month.  Starting with February 27th and leading up to Pride Week, I'll be hosting the world's funnest gay dating game on the last Wednesday of every month, from 10:30-midnight.  If you'd like to be a contestant, email Gretchen at vita.mn or find me at the nearest bar and I'll get you on the roster.
