This is kickball.

This is how we do.

Sliding into second last night didn't go as perfectly as I planned, but at least I was safe and the runner came home.

I still can't figure out exactly what happened; the scrape on the right ankle is an old sliding scrape that got reopened last night during this play.  This indicates to me that the slide was proper, since I always scrape that part of my ankle when I slide (yes, I wear short socks).  A girl from the other team suggested it was because the base was totally dug out by 10:00pm, which is when our game started.  My teammate Ryan agreed that the whole field was pretty beat up, and second base was definitely out of the dirt.  At any rate, my lead foot somehow got flipped down and I'm out for next week.  Actually, the pain is so intense when I walk that I'm thinking of getting some crutches.

Oh, kickball, always makes me think of the time my mother joined her company team, then came home after the first night and said, "They threw a BALL at me!"

Get it x-rayed!

If you need temporary crutches, we loan them out at Goodwill/Easter Seals for free: http://www.goodwilleasterseals.org/site/PageServer?pagename=serv_sup_MedEquip

Ouch! I hope that heals fast.

Totally didn't know that, thanks!

Ditto Matthew's comments - GET IT X-RAYED!

Honestly, go to urgent care, that looks like a break :(
