Tickles
As you may have heard, a new gay piano bar is slated to open next month in Northeast. Despite what Google Maps would have you believe, Tickles (no further comment on the choice of venue name) will be in the old Margarita Bella space just east of Central on Spring Street NE. Tickles will have a bar menu, but no word yet on how late they'll be serving food.
The closing of BOOM! and Bobino left a lot of gays and attractive straight women living in Northeast with no choice but to haul across the river to Jetset for a fine cocktail. Which is fine, I love Jetset, but I'm really glad for a gay-centric establishment so close to home where I can also get a decent bite to eat.
Tomorrow is not only my birthday, but also the day of the Bibelot Shops party at their Northeast location. They've started carrying men's clothing and accessories and tomorrow those items will be 20% off. There will also be appetizers, giveaways and a gift drawing. 4:00pm-8:00pm, East Hennepin and University.

Meanwhile, queer women and trans people are losing the only lesbian bar in town when Pi closes for good on November 15. As a regular, I'm at a total loss as to where I will go drinking after this month.
That last night is going to be a hell of a party.
