Sexy Food & Tasty Drinks
Put me in a room with Johnny Michaels, master of all things cocktail, for a few hours and I'm a happy girl. Tell me I don't have to pay for anything and I'm ecstatic. Throw in an aphrodisiac expert, a beautiful naked woman and some free grub and I've hardly seen a better day. Then tell me we're all gonna be on tee-vee with Andrew Zimmern and suddenly it all makes sense: I bet this has something to do with food and sex.
The fruits of last week's early Tuesday morning labor--yes, waking up at 8:00am is rather early for me--will air Valentine's Day week on the Travel Channel, and probably be rerun a bunch of times after that. I really hope I don't look and/or sound like a complete idiot, which can be easy to do in situations such as these. It's never the cameras that bother me, or even the thought of being on national television over and over again. It's the dozen or so people watching me in the moment, and knowing that they don't get to go home or even have their lunch if I can't nail whatever it is I'm supposed to be nailing in one or two takes. That messes with my head.
Anyway, I was pleased to learn something that I didn't already know: Johnny is a fellow friend to the animals and he wants to get together and throw a charity event for one or more of the local animal welfare organizations. So stay tuned for more information on that. Also, I think I named the newest drink at La Belle Vie, but I'm not positive. I can easily confirm that with a phone call, but it would be a lot more fun if you guys just stopped into La Belle Vie's Lounge, ordered a "La Boricua" and reported back.
The should be sexier that watching Zimmern eat fermented fish heads with elderly Innuit women. I hope.
Speaking of sexy drinks and fermentation, how did those beers strike you? There's more where that came from, and if you have any recipe suggestions, I'm taking requests.

I loved the pumpkin ale, although I think I accidentally caused it to not fully carbonate by forgetting it in the car the night you gave it to me. The holiday ale was good, as well, although it's now clear we have different tastes in beer. I am so not a hops person.

Johnny said you made that day great. Knowing the two of you, I'd have to agree. Cheers girlie!
