The new Walker Art Center opens in less than a month on April 17. Aren't you excited? I drive by the giant ice cube almost every day. It's such a strange-looking building, so I've been quite curious about what it looks like on the inside.
The latest issue of Newsweek features an article on the new museum and the Swiss architects responsible for its innovative design, Herzog & de Meuron. Included in the article is a "visual" tour with commentary by principal architect, Christine Binswanger. This is the firm's first American project. They also designed San Francisco's new de Young Museum, which is scheduled to open this October.
