Is tanned skin particularly more Pride-worthy than non-tanned skin? I'm confused. Then again, I am generally an advocate of non-tanned beauty, especially among the naturally fair-skinned. Can of worms, sorry...

Dave

Agreed. There are lotions out there you can use to keep from burning. Why the rush to toast yourself ahead of time?

Pale is the new copper. Say it to yourself until you start believing it. :)

I prefer to think of myself as having a "porcelain" complexion, personally.

Always thought of the Pride Festival as the "Look At Me Festival". I admire the cause, I just can think of more productive ways of celebrating diversity.

Let me rephrase. PARTS of the festival are a "look at me" fest. The programs and information are great and they have made the festival a broader educational aspect. Not the "Mardi Gras" it used to be.

$20 if you get Josh on the float.

I suspect that the focus has shifted in recent years simply because a lot of gays themselves had become uncomfortable with what "Pride" festivals were becoming.

Being unashamed of your sexuality and insisting on civil rights has little or nothing to do with men dressing up as slutty nuns and behaving extravagantly. I think a lot of people have come to realize that such grotesque displays are actually counterproductive to the cause of gaining acceptance for alternative lifestyles within mainstream culture.

sweet, i'll have to remember to replay my gay pride video on the friday before.

i'm trying to tan my goth-white skin too, but instead my entire front side is a pain lobster.

Matthew H

I will be giving my thumbs up to all involved in the festival.

Alexis

Thanks Chuck. I watched that video a couple of times last year after you posted it, and I got a good laugh again today.
