I can't take it anymore. The internet tells me it's -15 degrees outside but I'm suiting up and braving the cold because I have got to get out of this house and walk around a little.
No, nothing crazy like walking in this ridiculous weather, but I have to run over to Lula vintage shop in St. Paul to pick up a disco top that proprietor Haley was kind enough to find for me, so I might as well drive to the Mall of America, stretch my legs a little and try to absorb a some sunlight through the mall's skylights. I've been trying to soak up as much sun as possible while inside the house all week, but Felicia keeps hogging all the good spots.
I am not a tough Minnesotan. When it comes to the cold, I'm very, very weak. In fact, there was a mild episode of cabin fever in my casa last night and I'm seriously contemplating skipping town just for a few days to regain my sanity. I realize Vegas doesn't get higher than the low 70s in January, but the sun is always out and I've literally been dreaming about walking outside, in the sun, without 4 suffocating layers of clothing. Expedia has 4-day trips to Vegas right now, including hotel*, for under $300. Wait 'til February and the price goes up $100.
Anyway, If I'm still in the shopping mood when I head back to Northeast, I'll probably stop by gh2 on East Hennepin. They're having a 2-day 50% off sale that applies to both new and used designer clothing. Today and tomorrow only.
*Okay, it's a downtown hotel but I'm not picky. I've been to Vegas so many times that the novelty of the Strip is all but worn off for me. I can always cab it over there for a nicer meal.
